1. What do you already know about the Holocaust?
I already know that the Holocaust was a period of time during world war II when the Germans persecuted people like Jews and other people that they didn't like. I know that they put many people into concentration camps and extermination camps where there were extremely harsh conditions and people were tortured and killed in many unimaginable ways. Many people that were being persecuted had to go into hiding and this was very risky because if you were found out, penalties were so severe that you could die. This period of time was horrible for so many and thousands of people were killed. We get knowledge about the Holocaust through the few survivors that were left and through peoples diaries and journals, such as Anne Frank's. I think that it's really great that we are doing a study of the Holocaust and Anne Frank because it will help me to know and understand more of what times back then were really like, though many things, I'm sure, will be hard for me to understand because of the insane hardships that people had to go through back then.

i remember when i first learned about the holocaust it was during this really sad movie about how a family was split apart because the father was jewish and that made his son jewish and that made them both go to the concentration camps. But the mother isn't jewish and she chose to go and suffer through it all just to try and find her family. It was really sad and touching to see how strong peoples love was even in the midst of all this sorrow and despair.
I agree. It was horrible and the people were treated extremely badly. The bad thing is that in doing that, the Nazis made a bad name for Germans, and that can't be fun for the Germans.

The holocaust was so unbelievably horrible for especially the jews. They were treated like animals and dirt instead of normal people. Nazis would run tests on the jews just for fun or they would just kill one of them if they felt like they were in a bad mood. I think I would have died right away if that happened to me because I wouldn't be able to handle it. It sounds like one of the most hardest times there ever was for a certain religion like the jews.
Hitler was a monster and he ruined and took people's lives just because he felt like it.
